The island of A. is a series freely adapted from the novel « The island of Arturo (Memoirs of a teenager) » written by Elsa Morante. Fascinated by the wildness and solitude that confers an island, photography translates the progress of thought when the narrator describes, in first person, both his love affairs, family and wilderness expeditions. Theses descriptions change according to the narrator’s emotions and become wondrous, frightening and melancholic. The game and fear are in the center of his memories about his childhood and adolescence. Between still life and landscape, between near and far, the series provides an archipelago of perceptions.
