These photographs were taken around Mercer a small town on the banks of the Waikato River in New Zealand. My Mother, her sister, and 3 brothers were born there. When I was a child my parents and two sisters would travel from Hastings to Auckland where the road ran next to the river for a fair amount of the journey and past the town of Mercer. My Mum would always point out the house on the hill with the red roof as the one where she was born.
