Since 2008, the visual artist Philémon Vanorlé develops a photographic research named Basse-cour (farmyard in english). The result is a long series of photographs taken during trips or daily life moments. They are closely related to the city, its clichés and incongruous charms. The human presence is rare but humanity is omnipresent. In Basse-cour, people are common heroes, they are sometimes absurd but often creative.
